Winter Wonderland Fun!

Spending time with family at Winter Wonderland Hyde Park on 8th December 2018.

When we first arrived off the tube at Marble Arch Station we walked to the nearest gate (Gold Gate - very fancy), queued up and had our bags checked by security. Our first mission was to walk around and decide what we was going to have to eat - last year when I visited Winter Wonderland I ate the BEST mac and cheese (with breadcrumbs) I've ever had so naturally I wanted to find that same stall again and experience the tasty goodness.

We walked around for a while, stopped off at Thor's Bar (which was situated in a tipi and had an open fire in the middle) and settled in for an alcoholic beverage. We then continued on, looking for some food but alas there was no sign of the mac and cheese stall (which I found out to be called The Mac Factory) so I settled for a £7.00 portion of mac and cheese with bacon bits that definitely did not live up to what I was expecting. The rest of the group either got currywurst/bratwurst or halloumi fries. I was regretting my choice.

We looked around at some of the Christmas Stalls and rides, took various pictures which you can see below (see the Christmas trees? They're CANDLES!) and walked into Bar Hutte that was après-ski themed. After a while it started to absolutely chuck it down so we were glad to have got a seat whilst everyone was rushing in from the rain. There was live music playing so we was all enjoying each others company, making jokes and singing along to the well-known songs.

After a while we headed to one of the stalls which sold patterned bowls and plates and tried to get a bargain with success. We left soon after that and walked about half an hour to get back to the tube station! All in all, Winter Wonderland is so worth going either in a big group or with a partner - although EVERYTHING is pretty expensive, £3.00 for a hot chocolate, £5.50 for a pink gin and lemonade and £6.00 for a beer and we didn't even bother to look at how much the rides were, but the game stalls where you throw a ball and try to get it in a hoop was £3 for one ball... I'll let you be the judge!

Hope you enjoyed reading and taking a look at the pictures!
